About AKO Inspired
Living CIC

AKO Inspired Living CIC is a housing-led, community-based organisation established to deliver unregulated accommodation, outreach, advocacy and community enablement for people who need stability and structure—but do not require regulated care.

We exist to address a clear gap between housing provision, preventative support, and community inclusion—supporting individuals to live independently, safely and with dignity, while reducing pressure on statutory and regulated systems.

Why AKO Exists

Across housing and support pathways, many people fall into a grey area:

  • They do not meet thresholds for regulated care
  • They do require housing security, advocacy, outreach and practical enablement
  • Without early intervention, they risk disengagement, homelessness or crisis

AKO was created to meet this need—providing structured, accountable, non-regulated solutions that complement (rather than replace) statutory provision.

Our focus is on prevention, transition and stability.

What Makes AKO Different

  • Supports Vulnerable Adults (18+)
  • Promotes community inclusion, befriending and mentoring
  • Delivers practical enablement focused on independence

Our Operating Model

AKO operates as a trading Community Interest Company (CIC).

  • We charge for services where they are commissioned or contracted
  • We deliver services free at the point of access only where funding is secured
  • We generate surplus only to reinvest it into community benefit
  • We do not distribute profits for private gain

Our model is built on sustainability, accountability and impact—not dependency on goodwill.
